The J160 6speed RWD gearbox found behind the 3SGE Beams (SXE10 Altezza) has proved to be an affordable & perfectly matched RWD gearbox for the 4AGEs powerband. Many customers have contacted us after this conversion & reviewed it as the single best mod they have done to their 4AGE. Positive, smooth, close ratio gearchanges make the 4AGE an even more fun driving experience.
- Fits all 2A, 3A, 4A and 7A Toyota engines, and adapts to the Toyota SXE10 (Aisan 3SGE J160) 6spd RWD transmission
- Allows use of any 4A/7A flywheel & clutch cover with 200mm or 215mm friction disc options to match the larger J160 input spline. (part numbers provided)
- Allows use of 4AGZE flywheels for larger 225/235mm clutch options. These will already match the J160 input spline.
- Uses OEM J160 clutch fork, pivot bolt & slave cylinder.
- Allows use of the 3SGE reduction gear starter motor allowing more room & reliability than the original 4AGE starter motor. The 4AGE starter can also be used if required.
PLEASE NOTE:
Use of this kit requires the J160 bellhousing face to be machined by an engineer. Full instructions come with the kit & usual cost is around the NZ$100 mark (we can do this if required) The reason we do this is to allow full proper engagement of the spigot shaft and spline into the spigot bearing & clutch plate (unlike other kits) This also gives more room around the bellhousing in tighter conversions and allows removal of gearbox ‘incar’ without removing the engine (unlike other kits)
